DIAGNOSIS I HAVE RECEIVED

DIAGNOSIS I HAVE
RECEIVED IN THE LAST 15 YEARS AFTER MY DIAGNOSIS WITH FIBROMYALGIA

1.   Fibromyalgia - This causes me to have fatigue and “fibro fog” that makes me not to make decisions, much of the time.

2.   Chronic Fatigue – This causes me to be fatigued with little activity.  This is why I use a wheelchair to help me not get so fatigued.  Even after sleeping 10 hours I am always still tired.

3.   Chronic Pain – I have to take morphine and Vicodin to stand the pain daily.  These do not take care of all of the pain.

4.   Depression - Living a life like this would cause anyone to be depressed; I take medication and see a counselor every week.  I am
unable to even pick weeds out of my own yard.   Just little things that you don’t even think about I am unable to do.  If I go ahead and do it then I pay by extra pain and having to stay in bed for a day or two.

5.   Hypothyroidism – I have to take thyroid pills to counter act this condition that was diagnosed shortly after my diagnosis with Fibromyalgia.

6.   Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder – My inability to keep my attention on one thing for long.   Along with memory loss is why the Doctors took my driver’s license away permanently.   I was a programmer and had great attention before fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue hit me so bad.

7.   Sleep Apnea – This requires me to use a V-pap machine for sleep, through extensive testing they found that my brain fails to tell my lungs to breathe when I am sleeping.  This machine really helps me
and helps me feel safe.  I have to take sleeping pills, and then I take pills to wake me up the next day.

8.   Short term memory loss – This is a most disturbing problem, I don’t remember things that just happened.  This is an important factor in
why I can’t work.  I also have problems with remembering words or names.

9.   Kidney problems – This is a very painful condition. I was required to take diuretic’s to force my kidneys to get rid of excess water in my body.

10.    Kidney Stones – I have been in the hospital many times with kidney stones.  I have passed about 10 stones in two year period.

11.    Calcium Loss – I lost most of my teeth in my mouth because of this condition.  It also caused bone loss in my body.

12.    High Blood Pressure – I take several different medications to help control this condition.

13.    Cirrhosis of the Liver – Is thought to be caused by taking too much OTC pain medication over the years to help with an unknown pain condition.   This was before I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia.  Then my doctors put me on heavy doses of medication that made this worse.  (A doctor doing surgery to remove my gall bladder looked at my liver and could see no signs of disease from the outside.)

14.    Fatty tissue on the Liver – Trying to control this with my weight.

15.    Sjorgen’s Disease - This dries out all mucus membranes and requires a lot of attention daily to keep my body lubricated.  I have been given medication to wet my eyes six times a day.  I also have special tooth paste to help because of dry mouth.  I am required to drink water every few minutes so I can continue to talk.  My tongue will actually stick to the top of my mouth.

16. Migraines – For 15 years I had to deal with this disabling condition that causes me to spend many days in a dark quiet room with medication to get through this.   I found the cause of this only in 2010, Chocolate!!!  Once I quit using milk or dark chocolate, I did not have migraines again. I can use white chocolate with no problems.
17.    Asthma – Requires me to take medication daily along with having an inhaler with me at all times.

18.    Osteoporosis – I have weakened bones in my spine along with other locations in my body.  Fibromyalgia affects how my body process calcium.

19.    Seizures of unknown origin – Now controlled with medication.

20.    Anxiety Disorder & Loss of Emotional Control - I have taken Ativan for this ever since I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia.

21.    Bladder Problems - I have a spastic bladder and have had to wear disposable underwear to prevent accidents.

22.    Enlarged Prostrate – I have taken medication to help reduce the size of my prostrate.   Then I had surgery when the suspected cancer.  I had a Turp surgery and they removed a large amount of my prostate.   They said it was very oversized. This corrected many of my other urinary problems but caused me to not have full control of my bladder.  I have
to wear disposable underwear when I am out of the house.

23.    Stroke that affected eyesight(2007) – The only effect was I had one eye looking one way and the other looking the other way. Surgery was performed with some success, now with the help of special glasses that have prisms, I can read again.
24.    Hypogonadism – This caused loss of sexual function along with the calcium depletion.  Because of my heart medication, I cannot use pills to allow me to have normal sexual function.  I have to take testerone shots to help with his and also help with my osteoporosis. My testes have shrunk to a size I was before puberty.

25.   Sinus Disorder - 11 polyps were taken out of my sinus cavity. I had surgery to remove any excess skin in my throat to help with the sleep apnea. (This actually caused more scar tissue than it removed and did not help with the sleep apnea.) Then I had deviated septum corrected in another surgery.

26.   Chronic Constipation - This alone causes me to stay home even thought I take several medication to help with this.  I have been unable to find any medication to help keep my stools soft and moving.  I have to use an enema weekly to keep myself cleaned out. This condition is believed caused by the Narcotics that I received for pain.

27. Heart Attack (3) – in the fall of 2009 I had three heart attacks in two months.  They did a heart cauterization and it showed only 20% blockage in one artery.  They reason for the heart attacks have not been found by my doctors.  (I did read a medical article that stated that men over 50 that did not have enough testerone in their bodies can have heart attacks and even cause death.) During that three month time I was told to quit the testerone shots because of the possibility of prostate cancer.  After surgery I resumed the shots.  I think this explains the Heart attacks best.  (My doctor at the FFC agrees with me on this.)

28.   Gall Bladder – I had to have this removed after several attacks.  My surgeon started with a lapiscopic surgery, when he got inside he found that there were many adhesions connecting the gall ladder to other organs.  He knows I heal very slowly or he would have gone ahead and used regular open surgery.  It took him almost two hours to remove the
gall bladder whereas it would normally take 30 minutes or less.  It still took about six months for the small incisions to heal.

29. A Bacterial Infection – this is known as folliculitis, it normally lives in our nose and sinuses.  In my case it moved to my arms and legs. We  fighting this problem with three different medicines.

30. A Rash on the Face – the rash was red and looked really bad.  I was told it is like having dandruff on the face.  It is being treated with a second medication and it is looking like it is working.  My doctor told me it’s the same thing as (dandruff ) but on the face.

31.   Loss of Strength – this caused me to start using a wheelchair very early in after I was iagnosed.  I had to go to an electric one because I could not push myself and it gave me more independence.

32.   Cancer - I had cancer of the outer ear.  The cancer made a boil looking spot on the outer ear and they had to remove the skin down to the cartilage and replaced it with skin harvested from behind that ear.   We believe that it was caused because I used a cell phone with an internal antenna that was by the ear phone.  New phones have their antenna's at the bottom of the phone.
