ANOTHER GREAT VISIT

Well I was back to the Fibro and Fatigue Center last week for more treatment.  To be sure I am getting the right supplements they took another 14 vials of blood.  I should have the results this next week when I go back.  Of course I had the two bags of IV meds twice while I was there.
This month has been strange, my wife is with her parents in Michigan and I am alone.  This has happened each year, but this year I don’t have an aide coming in daily, I am able to drive and I am allowed to cook food.  In the past the aides have cooked for me at least one hot meal.  My wife did make meals that could be microwaved to heat.  But I was not allowed to cook.  Just because I had brain fog and caught the kitchen on fire she band me from cooking… Go figure??  Well this year I am doing so much better, I have been out of the house everyday.  I have had some nice meals and have gone out with friends.
I will be driving back to Las Vegas next Wednesday for treatments on Wed afternoon and Thursday morning.  Then will stay over and pick my wife up at the airport Thursday evening.  On Friday we plan to go to Bull Head City, AZ to see an electric vehicle that we are considering purchasing.  This little thing is 32” wide and will take both of us and our dog up to 30 miles.  We plan on having one when we start our travels so we can use it to get around in national parks and even RV parks that we stay at.  Because my wife had replacement knees and I am just getting my muscles back in shape we will use one of these “crickets”.  It will fit in the back of my pickup under the shell for transportation.

Till next time…

WELL THIS WEEK WAS WILD!!

I got my drivers license on Wednesday and then drove to Salt Lake City.   I had an appointment with my MD on Thursday morning.  She was over whelmed by my progress.  She just didn't know what to say when I told her I had stopped the Vicodin on a daily basis and only used when I over did something.  I also told her that I had stopped 60mg of morphine.  Then I ask her to give me morphine in 30mg from now on so I could wean myself off of all the morphine in the next two months.  This is the first time I have seen her, that I didn't have a long list of thing that were wrong with me.  She did have me get a MRI of my C spine to see why I am having pain there.  I talked to her about the numbness in my hands and feet, but she didn't know what to make of it.

It felt so good to have the freedom to drive anywhere I want to go.  I met a young man at the VA Hospital that has been seeing doctors trying to figure out what is wrong with him.  His symptoms were, pain in the muscle, foggy mind, no energy.... etc...   I told him it sounded like Fibromyalgia but he told me that he was in the first Golf war, the VA called that Gulf War Syndrome.  They treat it the same way as Fibro, with lots of medicines.   We had lunch out and talked to him, he said his wife had said that she thought she might have Fibro herself.  I have not heard of couples having Fibro or Chronic Fatigue.   I would love to hear from someone who, both spouses had FM/CFS.

I shared with him about the Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Center that I go to in Las Vegas.  I also want to hear from others that have gone to a FFC or are planning on going to one.  I am not paid by them but I know what a difference it has made in my life.  First of all it gave me hope, then it gave me back part of my life that I thought was gone for good.  I can hardly wait to see what will happen in the next nine months.

I will talk to you again soon...

Jerry

WELL I DIDN'T GET AN APPOINTMENT THIS MONTH...

I still have my January 4th appointment anyways.  I have lived with this CRUD for 15 years, I guess I can make it another month.  I have been really down in bed this first part of the month.  We are having winter storms after winter storms. (All it dose here is change the barometer.)  But that is what make me hurt the worst.

My friend Joe is playing Santa again this year in Grand Rapids Michigan.  Jim also has FMS but he is able to drive and play Santa (for extra cash).  He receives social security but that is all the income he has, besides playing Santa.  His wonderful wife works as a secretary in a church so she is not getting rich either.  They are a wonderful couple and we have known then for about fourteen years.

My next letter will be about how to make an application to Social Security when you have FMS/ CFS and be successful.  It took me twenty two months to be approved.  I was the first person to be approved for FMS/CFS in Michigan.  (so they told me)  Look for this post because it will give you all the tips you need to be successful in  your application.

BTW (by the way) leave me a line when you come to see these post.  It will encourage me.  I can see when people look at this Blog and what country or state they are from.  I just would love to know your name and any questions you have on FMS/CFS.  I have been speaking on FMS/ CFS topics for about 12 years now.  Also if your husband does not believe your really sick... have him get in touch with me or give me his e-address and I will contact him.  Another male talking to males seems to make the difference.  Many women have had me help with their husband.  I would be glad to help you also.  My e-address is fmsjerry@google.com.  Now you know how to write me privately also.

Have a great Sunday, the weather channel says we will be at 62 degrees tomorrow.  I hope I can get out.

Till next time,  Your friend Jerry
